Thanks, Jim. I was actually looking at that site earlier today - or strictly speaking, the more up-to-date version at http://www.rogerco.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.htm - because I thought there was a section on photo backs there, but I completely missed the link to it. Thanks for helping me find it again!

Agree with Jim on this one mid to late 1860s, back very much of that period, the link Jim gave is a very good one. Also the less full crinoline would hint at later as would the backdrop with the view in to the distance
