Crumpsall/Prestwich Workhouse.
« on: Sunday 17 February 13 13:20 GMT (UK) »
I believe my grandfather and his brother were there in 1891 but because of a complicated parentage, I don't know under what surname.  I think the only way is too look for two brothers with matching ages but I can't find the census entry on ancestry without a name or RG ref. Can anyone help with this.
Many thanks Anita

Too many options, as it's Manchester. Literally hundreds of individuals called William and Thomas with matching approx bods

FindMyPast has under "advanced search" tick boxes options for households, institutions & vessels - does Ancestry have an equivalent?

Prestwich Asylum 1891

RG12/3272  Folio 63-121

Just had a look and mostly they only give initials for names.

but found one name:
M.A. Bennett  married Aged 25?  born London ,
this name is 23 pages in.  but at least you have a starting point?

Good Luck!

Cancan :)
