Hmmm... Ireland North R______? could it be Ireland North Resident?

Where did that bit come from?

It's from 1911 census.  I think you are probably right... North resident...  Doesn't narrow it down all that much but it's a start.  Thank you

I also see Ireland North Resident - perhaps meaning Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland as a state had not been set up in 1911.

The most northerly point on the island of Ireland is in Co. Donegal which is in the Republic. This might not necessarily refer to a county that is now in Northern Ireland.
