I'm trying to trace my German Ancestry.
The families I a researching are:-
Reiss/Reece,
Wirth,
Spechtmeier,
Wilking,
Simon.
My Grandad Herman Reis (Herbert Reece) born 24 Jul 1898 Liverpool, UK,-died 1969 Merseyside, UK.
Grandad was one of nine children born to Johann Adam Reiss, & Elizabeth Wirth.
J.A.Reiss, b: 16 Sept 1857 in Elsweiler, Germany & died in Jan 1945 in Liverpool, Lancashire,
E. Reiss (nee: Wirth) b:14 Apr 1857, Kollweiler, Germany & died 29 Dec 1913 in Liverpool, Lancashire.
Johann & Elizabeth married in Liverpool, Lancashire on 24 Nov 1879.
I know a little bit about the family of Reiss.
The parents of Johann Adam Reiss were:-
Peter Reiss, 21 Jul 1829, Elsweiler, Bayern, Germany
Katharina Simon, 23 Jun 1832, Germany.
P. Reiss & K. Simon married on 3 Jun 1859 in Horschbach, Hinzweiler, Bayern, Germany.
Johann Adam Reiss, was one of 9 children, born to Peter Reiss & Katharina Simon.
I know very little about my Gt, Gt, Gt Grandparents.
The only name I know of is Maria Katharina Reiss, unknown dob, was born in Elsweiler, but she died on 11 May 1846 in Germany.
What I would like to try & do is try to get her parents if at all possible.
Any help would be much appreciated.
