Harry Haymes
« on: Saturday 16 February 13 04:12 GMT (UK) »
Could someone kindly look up an entry for Harry Haymes on 15 January 1950 under Andrews Newspaper Index Cards and tell me what it says. There is also another entry for his brother on the same date which I am also curious about if again someone could be good enough to tell me what it refers to.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Rootschat.

It doesnt say much!

Haymes Harry, brother of & see Haymes Albert,
NW 15/1/1950.

And...

Haymes Albert,
Will Albert and Harry Haymes sons of Albert Haymes age 73 late of Birmingham, railway porter, who both left Birmingham over 20 years ago (the next bit has been written over with the words NW  15/1/1950) looks like contact, then another word, Stanley A Coleman solicitor of 21 Waterloo Street Birmingham to their advantage.

Did dad die just before that then?

Carol

Thanks Carol.

I feared that they wouldn't really reveal anything of substance.

I have a copy of the will of Albert senior and I think it is fair to say that these newspaper clippings in 1950 relating to Harry and Albert junior are connected to their father's death the previous year. Stephen by the way was the 3rd male sibling while there were also 3 female siblings.  Albert junior was my grandfather who unknown to the family died overseas in the early 1930s. Concerning Harry I have never been able to find out what happened to him although the newspaper clipping does reveal that he left Birmingham over 20 years ago which is additional information on him. However as mentioned I have been unable to find out anything else despite extensive searches.
