Is this your Patrick in 1911 census?

Living in Dublin and born in Dublin so where's the County Louth connection?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

According to the census Teresa was born Dublin, and there's no sign of William or her 2nd husband to see where they were born...

Have you located a marriage for Teresa and William ?

Moving this to the Dublin board for the moment, as there's no definite link to Louth yet, so I think the marriage and 1901 census search are probably top of the list of searches.

ok
the first husband i think was sheriden
its very sketchy at the moment as the entries for the children on the 1911 census dont make sense
i.e. nieces where they should be grandchildren
its all very blurry at the mo
a lot of documents belonging to my mum were burned after her death for some reason

My reading of that census was that William Butterly was Teresa's first husband, 2nd husband was surname Sheridan - both husbands deceased. Agree with your interpretation of the children's status..

Looks like Ballystruan townland may be missing from the online 1901 census at the moment...

Do you have birth certs for Patrick or any of his siblings ?

just wondering if the were living in the same part of Co. Dublin back then

There's are just a couple of possible matches for William's death on the BMD Index. Might be worth checking them out , particularly the last two :

William Butterley deaths 1870 to 1911

place of death and informant might help confirm a connection and at least give you an approximate year of birth.

Ballystruan townland is just south of Dublin Airport and consists of just over 100 acres and is in Santry civil parish.
