List of ministers of Douglas in the 17th century

Does anyone know where I can find a list of ministers of Douglas, Lanarkshire in the 1600s?

I am looking for sources other than the Fasti.  Perhaps a church history listing.

The Fasti should list all the 17th century ministers of the parish. Are you looking for someone in particular?

I believe that the Fasti either has an ommission or more likely an error.  It has Peter Kid as succeeding Archibald Inglis in 1654.  I have a record that shows that the minister of Douglas in 1656 was Peter Kincaid.  So they either omitted him or more likely Peter Kid was given in error for Peter Kincaid.  I am interested in what other lists are saying.  I am interested in the list of ministers as during that time relatives tended to succeed one another.

This could open up a whole can of worms in that some Kidds in contemporary records might be Kincaids.

What is your source for Peter Kincaid as minister? If you think the Fasti are wrong, you would have to look at the minutes of the Kirk Session or, if they don't survive, the minutes of the Presbytery. They would both mention a new minister. There might be something in the likes of the Register of Sasines as well.

Rev Peter Kidd was imprisoned at Bass Rock for repeatedly to recognise CHARLES 11 as head of the church.
His grave can be found in Carluke churchyard.
