Yes, I think what the previous poster said about the confusion between Hugh's wife Yolande of Dreux, and the Scottish Queen of a similar name is correct. Certainly, there seems to be no Scottish ancestry in the two hundred years immediately prior to Hugh's death and before that it would be difficult to ascertain any. The nearest Scottish connection seems to be that Hugh's great-great grandfather, Count Theobald of Champagne, was the elder brother of King Stephen of England, who married the niece of David I of Scotland- quite a stretch from this to claim Scottish royal ancestry! However, through this same line, Hugh is descended from William the Conqueror, King of England, if that's any consolation.
As for descendants, on the other hand, if you're at all interested in that, Hugh was a very distant ancestor of Mary of Guelders, who later became James II of Scotland's queen, and thus the ancestor of every Scottish monarch since. However, if you looked into his descendants enough, you'd probably find a lot more descendants- everybody intermarried at this point, so there are whole families who could trace their ancestry back to the Conqueror in about twenty different ways.
