Hi,

I didn't appreciate the historical significance of the Stuart Hotel in East Kilbride, and I pass it almost on a daily basis.

jato,  I think this is what you're after, the Stuart Stevenson papers, 1540-1945, are at the National Library of Scotland, ref: GB233/MS.8190-8462

This may be a small offering,in my home town in Lanarkshire, there is Murdostoun Castle, Allanton estate which was owned from the 1800s by Robert Stuart/Stewart, an ex provost of Glasgow, then by his son J C Stuart/Stewart,the castle was sold in the 1980s I think. so there must be some history of those Stuart/stewart,maybe Lanarkshire Family History have some info on them.
Old Monkland, Coatbridge.  Pollockshaws,Glasgow.  Ireland  Northern Ireland. Donegal,Tyrone,County Derry.
