Ohh nice find Dazey

not your usual sort of churchman then
I checked the cced clergymens index and came up with this
Davies, David Griffith
Education Events BA, Oxford / Jesus
Ordination Events
17/06/1810 (Moss, Charles/Oxford 1807-1811)
08/06/1811
Appointment Events
Curate Charlbury with Shorthampton (or Chilson) (09/06/1811 - 11/12/1822 )
Curate Ascott-under-Wychwood (09/06/1814 )
Perpetual Curate Ascott-under-Wychwood (17/05/1826 - 17/05/1826 )
So given that he went to Jesus collage Oxford I checked the Oxford Alumni index
the most likly one is
David Davies s/o Thomas pleb. of Ruthin Denbighshire, Jesus College matric 17th May1806 aged 21 B.A. 1810
Checking the Chadlington transcripts (OFHS) I found a 4th child for this couple who seems to have been missed
Baptism 1819 Adonia d/o David & Ann Davies.
Thank goodness for an unusual firstname - I think I found David, Ann and Adonia in the 1841 census in Oxford (city)
Summertown St Clements HO107-891 Bk 5
David Davies 55 teacher N
Ann Davies 55 Y
Adonia Davies 20 Y
Sadly there is a death reg for an Adonia in Headington Oxford in 1844
but the occupation of teacher would fit with the information in the article that Dazey found above.
