Haven't seen a mention of Dunfermline with my Bowman family, but that is not to say it's not still hiding from me.

One thing I've learned with this crazy hobby is that absolutely anything can happen and it's best to always half expect the unexpected!!! ;D

Thanks for the contact.

jobarnes,

Just looked at the dates on this thread and I think it might be up to us now to continue.  It's been a long time since the original post.

My Bowman line came from Kirriemuir and there are mentions of Cortachy and Clova as well.

Which Bowman line are you chasing?  My John Bowman was the son of John Bowman and Agnes Eaton and his first wife was Barbara Tosh, second wife Betty (or Betsy) Duncan.

Seems to me that it was not an uncommon name in Scotland, but I might be wrong.

Would love to hear from you if you think there are any chances of a connection.

Philippa

Hi Philipa
I would like to get in touch with you about John Bowman, Barbara Tosh/Betty Duncan. John Bowman is my great great great grandfather and I live not far from One Tree Hill in South Australia where the Bowman's settled. To get in touch either on here or my email *  look forward to your reply. Regards Sandra

Hi, is there anyone researching their family history of the following names: -

Bearn - Angus
Bowman - Dundee/Forfar
Smollet - Dundee
Stirling - Dundee/Forfar

I have  John McLeod Calder born about 1898 in Dundee (or Dundee area)
