Thanks that's a great help - I believe Thomas must have died before 1901 census and there is a possibility for a death for him. Still need to find out more about Doris but made a promising start. Looks like Mary Jane died after 1907. Are there any burial records online?

I have the death certificate of an uncle - January 1942 - lived Moss Side - but he doesn't appear in the burial index anywhere. Why would he not appear, please?

There is a Thomas Morton buried in Philips Park cemetery manchester 22/5/1900
Grave K Consecrated 1993.
There are no other Mortons or Browns in the grave

Thanks - would a child be buried alone in a plot at this time? Is there any more info on the burial or is it a pay to view more? His father John is a bit of a mystery man who was born in Scotland - never been able to locate his birth to get further back with this line. The mother family were Gould.
Is there any more info on the John Brown / Ann York marriage in 1909 - names of fathers or witnesses etc
