Andrew Young born Markinch, Fife 12 Apr. 1878.

I am trying to find information on Andrew Young b. 12 Apr 1878 in Markinch Fife.
His parents were : father - James Barrie Young and mother - Jane Walker Hogg.
At the time of the 1881 Census the family were living in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Sometime between March 1884 and November 1886 the family moved to Ayton in Berwickshire but Andrew does not appear on the 1891 Census for the family living in Ayton at that time.
The only other information from family sources is that he emigrated to South Africa, never married and was involved in some capacity with South African Roads / Highways.
I cannot find any Emigration or Military records that clearly link to Andrew.

In 1891 he would only have been 13yrs old so would not have emigrated that young

Have you looked at Andrew's grandparents? Could he be with them?
