help deceiphering occupation & maiden name

All oponions welcome on what the occupation is for this lady from her marriage cert from 1856.

Occupation: __________ maker  - maybe quilt??? 

and her mother's maiden name, I thought maybe thompson or thornberry   just not sure.

Not really sure, but I don't see it ending in 'y', the only writing going below the line is what
looks like a bracket before 'decd'.

Is the image from Scotlands People? I've heard that they will try and improve an image for
you when something is unclear.

I think I will add Thornbury to my tree and see if any thing turns up.  If nothing does I will contact SP and see if they can make the image any clearer.

I would say Thorburn, there is no y. The line is the first bracket of (dec).

Possibly Dressmaker?
