Thanks so much for the prompt reply! I don't have the ships or the ports of entry/departure - except that the family lore has it that the Colberts were from Queenstown, Cork. But I see no Colberts there. It may well have meant the it was their port of departure, of course, but that also doesn't say whether they went via Liverpool or not. The passenger arrival records are pretty spotty and often are index-only with scant information about departure ports or home townland - and am a bit of a loss on how to get vague arrival-by-port index cards (with Thomas Colbert, say - and departure port "Ireland") to passenger manifest - which might have more detail. I too say the Michael in Mogeely and another in Ballynoe - but here again, it's not clear to me what one should do with those leads. Can you suggest a best next-step from the Griffiths information?
