Just a word of warning here....please read the terms and conditions before you decide which to use. Some will remove your files if you don't access them.

I urge you strongly to read the terms and conditions before you subscribe to any of the free sites.

Best regards

I have hesitated about this because I thought I heard recently that one of these 'clouds' (if that's the right word  ;D) was going to make pictures public & I don't want that! I can't remember which one it was. Or was it just the techie equivalent of an urban myth?

But all helpful advice from your good selves - I really do need to spend some time looking into the Ts & Cs.

Thank you

Not sure I have heard that rumour Pat.

Most cloud servers that host your photos will give you the option of making them public, shared or private so you can choice the security level of your uploaded photos.
For document storage you count password protect or encrypt your docs before uploading.

Welll...there is this on the Google Docs service terms and conditions...

Quote
When you upload or otherwise submit content to our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content.

Now I know that doesn't apply to all such services, but it does go to show that you should reads the TOCs
