On this day John Douglas(s) was born in 1814 to James Douglas and Mary nee Varnden
However he died in December 1839 of unknown cause in Egham.

He was presumably named after James's grandfather , the shadowy John Douglas who is the earliest known Douglas I have who could have lived anywhere as all I have is his name

THis John however was my great x 3 uncle

A 1st cousin, 4 removed, Harriet Kingsman born today in 1842 in Holborn;  daughter of Charles and Susannah Martha (nee Bacon).  Harriet was baptised in May 1842 in St. Sepulchre, Holborn and married Richard James Butler on 12 May 1861 at St. John, Clerkenwell. They had 7 children and Harriet died in 1883.

Three for February 25th. In 1809, Janet Brown, the elder sister of my 3xG grandfather Walter was born in Bo'ness.

In 1786, William Auld, the brother of my 4xG grandmother Janet was born in Linlithgow. He was the youngest child in the family.

In 1733, Andrew Bishop, the brother of my 5xG grandmother Agnes was born in Currie. His parents had moved there from Colinton where their first child was born.
