What an amazing hairstyle she has! It looks as if she should be hiding a gigantic, early i-pod down her dress and is sporting the latest accessories in earphones. ;D

Today I have just the one:

9th February 1783, Matthew Iley married Mary Kendrew in Brompton by Northallerton, North Riding of Yorkshire. They were 4 x great grandparents and both present stumbling blocks for me when it comes finding their forebears. The Iley family had their children baptised in a catholic church - the only members of my tree to have done that so I'm wondering if that's why I've had problems finding Matthew's parents. I know his father was another Matthew but beyond that, absolutely nothing!

What a great photograph to have Stonechat. I'm lucky enough to have two of my GG grandfather, alas neither show his wife Hannah.

Did he make the barometer ?

Two today and from my Bo'ness Browns again. On January 9th 1804, Margaret, the eldest child of my 4xG grandparents John Brown and Janet Gibb was born in Bo'ness.

January 9th 1937, Walter Brown, 6th child and 4th son of Walter Brown (brother of the above Margaret) my 3xG grandfather and his wife Margaret Dunlop, died in Station Road Armadale. His father, my 3xG grandfather was a blacksmith, like his father before him.

A 2nd cousin, 1 removed, William Hector Ralph, born in 1900 in Hackney;  son of Mark and Isabella (nee Read).  He was their 10th child but sadly lived just a few weeks.  Three years later their 12th child arrived, another son who was named William Hector, but he too lived just a few weeks.

Another set of 4 x great granparents for me today.

10th February 1798 William Crichton and Mary Brechin married in Methlick, Aberdeenshire. They had four children, the third being my 3 x great grandmother, Christian Chrichton - a saintly woman if ever ther was one who went on to bring up as her own at least one (and possibly three) children who were the result of her husband's extra marital affairs.

The Chrichton family seems to have been in Methlick for at least four generations but like my Bushby line in Wensleydale, they seem to have kept their heads beneath the parapet as far as newsworthiness goes!

Ann Hoby (Hobby) married John Bagley at Yazor in Herefordshire in 1762

My 6 x great grandparents
Little known about them John died 1800- suspect Ann died before 1784 when NBI coverage starts

Must go to Herefordshire Record Office
However herefordshire is a lot of people in my tree and the time would just go
