Sharps at The George Pub at 9 Great Queen Street London
« on: Sunday 27 January 13 22:26 GMT (UK) »
From pubshistory.com is a list of publicans.    From the list and information the site found in the postal directories is the following.
1905 Thomas William Sharp
1910 Emily Elizabeth Sharp
1915 Mrs. Ellen Sharpe
1921 H. Sharp
What year did the Sharps start at the pub and what year did they leave the pub between 1895 and 1938?    Also H. Sharp is an unknown to the family at the present time because the last known person who had a forename which started with an H died in 1918.    What name does the initial H stand for?

Have you checked the 1911 census to see if they had a son called H?

According to the Electoral Roll Thomas William Sharp 1904-1909, Emily Elizabeth Sharp 1910-1912, Ellen Sharpe 1914-1915.

Can find no Sharp/Sharpe after 1915 - certainly no H Sharp/e for 1921!

Yes 1901 and 1911 censuses were checked.   Yes I do know the children but none had the initial H.

Thank you for information.  Now the possible start year has changed from 1895 to 1901.   Reduces the possible period from 1901 to 1938

Thank you.   Any information helps.   How does one get to view the postal directories online?
