I have just found this person on findmypast - military papers etc. I've looked on the internet but cannot find why someone would be there. He may not have been fighting as he died of 'enteric fever'
I presume he would have been buried there His military no is 15133. This is the 1st military search I have made & would appreciate any advice - thanks

Simply put - he was stationed there.  Wikipedia has a good entry, look up "British Indian Army".
I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe

Does anyone know enough about army life to be able to decipher this part of Charles army record - he joined the Royal Artillery so the 1st line 'field arty' and 'driver' are fine but the short hand on the 2nd line has me stumped - K?? H. A. the next column looks like Q Potter? I'd be grateful if anyone has any suggestions - thanks
