george Barber Eyke birth lookup

I believe from information I have been given that George Barber was born 18th march 1855 in Eyke; this date is consistent with his age on all other certificates I have for his marriage and death however I cannot find his birth on free bmd. There are 2 for this area but one is 1854 and one 1856. Please could I have information from the Eyke registers to confirm the date I can then decide whether it is worth sending for one of these birth certificates.  Thanks

I would go for the 1854 birth!

The 1861 census was taken on the night of 7th April 1861.
If your George was the son of David & Harriet Barber, then he was 6 on the census.
That puts his birth sometime between 8th April 1854 and 7th April 1855?
