I can trace Mary Jane up until just before Alice married George but can find no Alice Pearcey before this and no Mary Jane after. I am guessing the are the same person but can find nothing (maybe Alice as middle name) to confirm my suspicions. quote]

On the 1901 census Emma Pearcey is living with George and Alice so I feel your suspicions are correct.

Yep, I think they are this time. But they so often arn't! Lololol

I would really like to find some definite proof though just to be sure. I have learnt from past mistakes.

That's a great help, I have just looked up the site and although I have accepted Colins offer I will see if FindMyPast can offer any other help with some of my other relatives I have come to dead ends with.

Unfortunately I have not yet acquired the full versions. Four of their children were born abroad in Australia/New Zealand and three in England after moving back. If you are interested, and fancy a rummage around at any time, I am more than happpy to give you the details to my Ancestry tree so you can see for yourself the info I have collected so far.
