Hi Shane,

I have just started checking out All Ann/Anne McGraths who could possibly have been an ancestor. father's name James , mother's name Joanna.

Sorry you've lost me... If Anne is a possible ancestor do you not know her husbands surname at least ?

Maybe start with a search for slightly more recent records - do you have details on the next generation after Anne ?

looking back at your previous posts, and wonder if maybe this Anne might be a sibling to your greatgrandmother Margaret, rather than a direct ancestor.

My greatgrandparents were Michael Rossiter and Margaret Rossiter nee Mc grath

If you are sure Margaret's sister was Anne, and she married in 1888 in New Ross then as Elwyn mentioned, the best way to  verify this, or not, is to order a cert and she if the father's details match up..

Hi Shane,
no I don't think she was a sister of my g/grandmother because of the time span. I shall order the cert and see what it throws up.

many thanks to you all for your help
