Coldstream guards, Cycling Divison?
« on: Wednesday 23 January 13 16:53 GMT (UK) »
I have found another relative who saw active duty during WW1 Charles Edward White.  According to family notes he was in the Coldstream guards (which his medal roll confirms) but it says he has two different numbers 9453 and 7613, it also says he was in the cyclist divison for a while, but the coldstream guards dont have a cyclist divison (as far as I can work out).  Is it likely he was in the Coldstream and some how moved to a cyclist divison (and given a new number) before moving back as his record numbers reads 9453, 9453, 7613, 9453.
Researching: Gibbins/White (Devon/Wales), Edge (Cheshire), Davies (Cheshire)

Guards/Household cavalry provided manpower for this unit until June 1916 when it was disbanded
I think you might find a very interesting Service Record in the Coldstreamers Archives he was a pre war regular and one of the first overseas.
He was entitled to clasp and roses on his 14 Star so came under fire before Nov 1914

It will cost £30 to access the record that's the one downside
