Convent of Jesus and Mary, Park Ave, Cricklewood
« on: Wednesday 23 January 13 14:27 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I think I have found my Grandmother in the London Electoral registers for 1930 and 1931,as being at the convent of Jesus and Mary, 21 Park Ave, Cricklewood. The list is of several womens names, but no Sisters. Does anyone know what exactley was the convent used for, eg.school, hospital etc?
Or could anyone tell me how I could get this info?

Thank you.

Chris.

Hi Chris - seems it's a Catholic Infant School founded by the Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus & Mary.  Maybe as you've been looking at electoral rolls the nuns would have been recorded under their real names, rather than their chosen ones (if that makes sense?!)

Hi Dazey999,

Thanks for that info. If thats the case, then it can't be my Grannie who is living there. More searching to do now!
