This from Steve Robinson's newsletter;

I also wanted to let you know that In the Blood will be free for the Amazon Kindle and devices from tomorrow for 5 days, so if you know anyone who might like to read it, please let them know that they can get a free copy for a limited time.
 

Tomorrow being Thursday 24 January.  It's a great genealogy based read  :)

If you do read it Maria, you wont put it down  :)  The second book, 'To the Grave' is equally as good.  Enjoy,

Oh that's no good. This looks really interesting, but I don't have a kindle. Just checked and my library doesn't have it, so I might have to make a purchase.  :)

You can download a free kindle app for your computer from Amazon.

Thanks Scotmum, but I took the plunge and ordered the two books from Amazon. I am less inclined to read huge amounts of text on the computer and generally prefer to lounge about when reading. But thank you anyway.  :)

Very useful to find out about the free kindle app for the laptop - I have a Kobo e-reader so that I can download free books from the county library, but Kindle books aren't compatible, annoying because they seem to have a wider range and cheaper prices than the Kobo store.  I downloaded the Kindle app for my laptop but it wouldn't let me get 'In the Blood' free - I had to pay 77p!  :o  ::)  ;D   I've already started it and it looks good.
I think I might find the laptop awkward for reading in bed  ;D  ;D  Still I've now got another way of getting books free/cheap!
