Helston Wesleyan Methodist records for 1862
« on: Tuesday 22 January 13 13:13 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know where the registers are kept for a marriage that took place in the Helston Wesleyan church/chapel in June 1862? I have a copy from the GRO but it is not that clear; hopefully viewing the original entry, if it still exists of course, would make sense of it.
Also the only current chapel I am aware of in Helston is in Coinagehall Street, would this have been in existence in 1862?

Many thanks
Croxia

yes, it's the same church, although what was then the church looks to be the Sunday School now

Where the original registers are is another matter. It may well have been a registrar attended marriage which would mean that the church didn't keep a copy as the registrar took the register with him. The Registry Office in Truro would have a copy which might be clearer. You could ask them to check the details

Thank you Osprey for your reply and very useful links.

The marriage was attended by a registrar so hopefully a copy exists. I will contact the registry office.
