Still searching the index to see how useful the site may be and getting more annoyed and discouraged.

ON FS or Ancestry you can select a surname and county but when I put in surname and county (Londonderry) I don't get same results (as I mentioned earlier). Then tried putting in registration district (Coleraine) and looked at marriages.
Aunt Etta's 1918 (2nd) marriage is listed (good) with 2 possible spouses- I have the certificate but FindMyPast shows 2 possible grooms- neither is her husband Thomas. At least Ancestry shows all spouses that appear on the same page.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I've encountered a similar issue as Aghadowey.

I have a marriage certificate for James Comer to Bridget Rafferty from Woodford Reg District, Galwayfrom 1866.  I'm not getting it coming up on FindMyPast, though it is on Family Search  :-\

Hi All,

I followed the link above for the 50 credits, input id and password, put details in, it says password incorrect. I left that went to FindMyPast site, and logged in with same id and password, and this was accepted. So I cannot activate the voucher for 50 credits.

Tom

Even if you have already registered to use the uk FindMyPast site, you need to register again with FindMyPast.ie. You will then be able to use the credits.

I don't understand why people are complaining. If you read the info on the website it tells you what records they have, and how to use them. I didn't find anything but have used my credits to look at some US census and passenger list records instead. If it had been free all day the site would have fallen over and everyone would be complaining about not being able to get on the site at all, as has happened on other sites in the past.

I suppose people might be wondering why FindMyPast Ireland exists as a pay site when it seems that most/many of it's "collections" are available elsewhere for free. Just a little sneaky perhaps?  :)

I still haven't found any of mine. Does anyone know if we have 90 days to use up the 50 free credits like other FMPs?

I think it's 30 days - it says  offer valid until 31 Jan, credits last for 30 days after activation.

I tried yesterday & also didn't find anything new. I went on earlier to see if credit were still there - they are. I also checked the settings on "my account" - there are options on there that are not on the UK version relating to personal data & sharing so anyone who's just signed up may want to check they're happy with the defaults or otherwise make changes.

Wrote yesterday that the website quotes the name of my g grandfather's 2nd spouse ... despite the fact he only married once and pre-deceased his wife!

Today I notice the website shows wrong information for my grandfather also.  It:
(1) names a total stranger as his wife
(2) makes matters worse by listing his real wife as his "2nd spouse"
(3) doesn't mention or name my grandfather's 2nd wife/spouse

In the case of two grand aunts, I located their marriages and paid for the images, only to find the fathers names now missing for all four people.

All this confusion will result in lots of unnecessary work for people tracing family ties.

Cheers
