Hi Bill
I don't like leaving things hanging.
After finding two births between 1901 and 1911, and the corresponding deaths in Scotland, I had another go.
The family is there in 1911 under MARCISKIAWICHS ! This was truly a nightmare for the enumerator.
There are 4 kids, including the two that I had previously found. Watch out for names changing, e.g. it looks like the first born, Joseph, was shown in 1911 as Yurzas.
Only three of the kids were born in Scotland, - the other was born in 'America', presumably the USA.
Watch out also for variations in Jurzas senior's wife given name; the Guid Lord only kens what her surname was, see the various birth entries. Also, I guess, the registrars' nightmare!
Not too much doubt that it is the right family, especially given that the marriage is shown as being 10 years old. At first I thought that there might have been a remarriage, but the 10 year figure knocks that on the head.
Jurzas is shown as born in ''Lietwa', - that might be Lietiva, - this is almost certainly Lietuva, which is the Lithuanian for Lithuania.
He's also shown as having Russian nationality.
