John Patrick's birth certificate states his parents Philip and Catherine married 16/10/1901 Newtownbutler, Fermanagh, Ireland so in 1901 census not yet married and still in Ireland.

Here's the marriage in 1901-
Philip Wray to Catherine Culligan at Newtownbutler RC Church. Both are servants - Philip living at Gubb (Island), Catherine living at Bunn.

Catherine (Kate) in 1901 census.
House 2 in Bunn (Kilturk, Fermanagh).

Thank you, I do have all the information from the Irish site it’s just Philips birth and trying to find him on the 1901 census I am struggling with. So kind of you to have gone to all the trouble of finding the Irish details.

There is a RC baptism that shows as a faint possibility. I say faint because it is so faded  ::)

It is a baptism of a Phillpe Hay, son of Philip Hay and Johanna on 19 May 1871. Further details on the transcript show as:

Parish Innismacsaint
Alternative parish names Bundoran, Inismacsaint, Magh Ene, Maghene
Diocese Clogher
County Donegal, Fermanagh

Given the poor quality, wondering whether the surname indexed as Hay should actually read Wray. Hard to say  :-\

Monica
