Bates Family Tree - Help needed
« on: Monday 14 January 13 09:47 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I am trying to find out some information on Thomas & Mary Bates I have their birth years as 1796 & 1801 not sure if that is 100 percent correct, they were born in England. They gave birth to James Bates 1827 born in Stone Buckinghamshire he married Sophia Stephenson who in turn gave birth to Joseph 1853 who then married Sophia Blishen. I am extremely interested in photos if anyone has any available and also any info.
Thank you

Details children as you have.
Emigrated to Australia 1849 on 'Kate' and died 1883 in NSW.

tree has a record of the Authority of NSW , Australia, Assisted Immigrant Passenger Lists, 1828-1896

very bad copy but can just make out childrens names - birth stone & marys name. can't make out thomas but head of family born stone as well.
another child George b, 1841/2.

Hello Diddy & Lizdb,
Thank you so much for all your help it has helped me considerably. It was the listing on A* however I wasnt looking for the other names as I thought it was just James and Thomas. I had applied for James's daughter Ann birth certifcate to try and find out when James was born and it was a bonus as well as it also had Thomas & Mary and their age as I was able to work out when they were born. I am excited.
Thank you
Sue
