Green, Thomas born c 1834

Trying to trace ancestors of Thomas Green, born c 1834 Staffordshire England, married Mary Carnwell, born c 1823 Staffordshire England, married Dec 30, 1857. Their son John Thomas Green (1860-1938) was my ggrandfather.  Believe Thomas' parents were Sampson Green (as evidenced by marriage cert) and Ruth Shufflebottom.  Mary's father was Joseph Carnwell. They were married in Kingsley? Staffordshire, England. Appreciate any help tracing this family.

Wow, thank you so much!  This is certainly a good start for me. I think some of my confusion stems from the fact that I don't understand England's geographical system, between all the counties, districts etc so I am often unsure if I have the right place or not. Not to mention that Thomas and Mary Green are very common names! Thanks again.

Being new to this board I had a bit of trouble trying to reply to my messages. But I think I am good now.  To trish1120 - thank you for the info! I haven't looked at my family tree over the winter due to other commitments but am now back on track.
