This website provides a few short photo tours of D&G towns and villages including Thornhill.
http://www.imchad.freeola.com/mc_clumpha/towns/index.htm
This is a copy of a map I drew for Dumfries & Galloway Family History Society - it shows the location of all the burial grounds around Thornhill.  DGFHS www.dgfhs.org.uk have published MIs surveys of all of them.

Hello, I have some info the family history project I`m working on, which focuses on family connections with Wright, Carruthers, and Kirkpatrick. this is from about 1880 - the present. Are these names any good?

Do let me know
