Cemetery in Edmonton District named Pleasant View
« on: Saturday 12 January 13 15:17 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone tell me if the information I have been given by a relative is correct?

I've been told that the Thomas & Mary Chambers d. 1953 & 1959 are buried in a cemetery of this name, but I'm struggling to find a cemetery of this name, has it been renamed?

Mount View Cemetery comes up, but when I search their records the names don't appear, as don't Thomas & Mary's daughter Mary or Mae Wallator & her husband Sidney who are suppose to be in the same cemetery as Thomas & Mary Chambers.

Any help would be greatfully received.

The original post mentions the dates of death :-   Thomas & Mary Chambers died 1953 & 1959.

So 1923 would be incorrect.

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for the swift reply, but the references you supplied are in connection with Ontario records, I'm looking for Alberta, so I had better go back and amend the title.  But thanks for looking for me.

Its quite confusing because the title says Pleasant View and your text talks about Mount View ?

The August 1923 burial is their son, who died aged 21 I already have this one, but thank you both.

Even more confusing -  your request for Obituary info - the Edmonton Library are giving Thomas Obituary info as 1953 and Mary 1959 as found by Polarbear ?

Yes that my confusion also I was told it was Pleasant View Edmonton Alberta, but the only cemetery name I can find is a Mount View in Edmonton AB, for which records are online as long as they are older than 25yrs old - and they are not found in this one.

So I'm guessing the Pleasant View one should be correct, I just can't find any contact details for it and had wondered if it had changed it's name since the 1950s
