What is it that you find 'impossible to read'?

I must admit I am finding the colour contrasts hard,the blue/grey background doesn't show the lettering off enough,I have the beginnings of cataracts and am finding it pretty difficult.I have heard others say their eyes don't like it either.
It would be great if the background could be lightened and the text made blacker.Just my humble opinion  .

The black lettering is absolute black. It can't get any blacker than black.  The background is about as light as we can go without it going to white in some browsers.
