Dennis BENTLEY, Stretford - Died in accident????
« on: Saturday 05 January 13 15:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi All
Found something a bit interesting during my research and I wonder if someone can help me out to find a bit more info please.....

Dennis BENTLEY b.1840 in Stretford.....died in 1848.....but on the parish records it has the following information in the notes:

Burial: 9 Apr 1848 St Matthew, Stretford, Lancashire, England
Dennis Bentley -
    Age: 8 1/3 yrs
    Abode: Stretford
Notes: [Note in right hand margin] All four interred in one day such a thing not
remembered to have occurred in Stretford. In addition to this a child was taken to Flixton.

    Buried by: J Clarke Curate
    Register: Burials 1813 - 1855, Page 151, Entry 1202
    Source: LDS Film 2356282

Can anyone shed any light as to what happened here??? In particular who were the other three people interred (just thinking if they were related or not........) and if you know it the one taken to Flixton??

A lot to ask ;)

As always thanks for your help in advance

Thanks Heatherjulie / Radcliff......

Can't see any connection between these and my Dennis.....but it is possible as I haven't found all the details for the Bentleys yet.....like what happened to Ann Bentley (Dennis's mother), Elizabeth Bentley and John Bentley - they appear in the 1841 census with Mary and Sarah (Sarah is my g,g,g grandmum or something like that lol) but then in the 1851 census have disappeared....

Any who.....are there any newspaper archives online that I could look into for further information on Dennis??? Just intrigued as to what happened.....

I have checked the Newspapers using various searches, but I can`t find anything.

Also the 1851 census for Manchester and surrounds was water damaged in storage and whilst a considerable amount has been digitally recovered it is not complete.
