I`ve checked the marriages for St. Wilfreds RC Church for James and Elizabeth but no joy
there.

However, there is a baptism for JOHN CARRIGAN b 20/12/1862 father James Carrigan, mother
Elizabeth Carrigan nee Bracken but no baptisms there for the first 2 children Catherine and Margaret!!

Hi,

Re the suicide of William Bleasdale in 1875. If you can access old newspapers there is a report on 8th May, 1875 in the Lancaster Gazette which details what happened to him.

Many thanks for the very swift reply. We live near Lancaster and I can easily look this up now in the local history library. Another family mystery about to be solved!

Page 8 Second Column. 'SUICIDE AT LANCASTER'

I'd type it but it's fairly long.
WHITEHOUSE- Bromsgrove, WANE - Eccleston, TOWERS - Blackburn & Ribble Valley, COLLINGE - Rawtenstall, THOMAS - Penzance, Whitehaven, Haslingden.

Just read your challenge Bleasdale Preston. I was interested in it because I've been searching for a Martha Bleasdale  b 1843 Turton but couldn't find her on BMD . Eventually found her as Blazedale.
