On 6 January 1958 a third cousin 1 x removed, Dorothy Ellen Georgina Conquest, died in Palmers Green, Middlesex, aged 55.  Strangely, I had lived with my parents in Palmers Green until 1957, and had no idea that relatives, distant though they were, lived so near.  Even when we moved, it was only to Grange Park, still very close.

On 7 January

In 1778 a 4 x g.g uncle, Thomas Crowsley, was born in Kempston, Bedfordshire.  He was the son of Samuel and Mary (nee Burroway) and brother of Samuel, my 4 x great grandfather.

In 1882 a second cousin 1 x removed, Susan Beaurain Hensman, was born in Bloomsbury, London, daughter of John James George Hensman and Frances Beaurain Empson.  I haven't as yet been able to find out where the name Beaurain comes from.

In 1787 my husband's 3 x great grandfather, Edward Bangle, was baptised at Harston, Cambridgeshire.

In 1899 a first cousin 1 x removed, Bertie Conquest, was born at Walworth, London.  He was the son of William George and Eliza Jane (nee Stevens) but sadly only lived for two months.

9 January 1910 my grandmother Doris Linnett was born she lived for 90 years and could remember her childhood very clearly. She was brought a book to write her family history in and she did this for each sibling and her parents and grandparents. She also knew her future husband from when he was a young boy as both families were great friends. So she was also able to complete her husbands side of the family's history as well. From her I have documents letters and hundreds of photos. So I want to say thanks gran and miss you loads.
