I had a marriage but have already mentioned the couple so will instead mention the sad death of Ellen Jackson, daughter of George Jackson and Sally nee Booth, who were from Cheshire but had settled in  the Barnsley area. Sally died in 1872 when young Ellen was 6, George remarried an unknown Ann and George himself died in 1879 when Ellen was 13.

Ellen died in childbirth on 19th Jan 1889 in Leek, Staffs.
She had been living at the 1881 Census with an Aunt in Macclesfield.
She was presumably packed off to Leek to have the baby. I don't have dob for the baby called Kate Ellen Hodgkinson Jackson, so father was presumably called Hodgkinson.

Baby Kate survived and could be born this date too, I don't have dob for her
In 1891 she was with the family in Leek, and later rejoined family in the Barnsley area.

I have been busy checking and updating my family tree and the result is that I have found another entry for today.

In 1714, Margaret Dickenson was baptised in Brough under Stainmore Westmorland. My 6 x great grandmother and as I was working backwards, the first member of the family I found who was born in Westmorland.
