Thanks Alteha,Guess I won't know for sure if he is my Samuel Ward Roberts,I am thinking maybe as his second name Ward would not be very common. There is no death entry for him is Aus and looks like none in NZ.Will have to keep at it.
Cheers Judy

Hello...

Your thread on the Aussie board mentions Samuel Ward ROBERTS was born c.1843

There is a 1910 death for a 68 year old Samuel ROBERTS on the BDM NZ website

1910 minus 68 equals 1842

BDM NZ Deaths - 1910/8835 - ROBERTS, Samuel - 68 years - d.o.d 23 Oct 1910

Can't find a mention of a death or burial record in the usual places. Would need to view the BDM NZ Deaths fiche to see where in NZ the death was registered. Hopefully it would be in Northland which means the 1910 death might correspond with the 1905 and 1908 electoral roll entries found by Althea.

Regards
Beg

Hello Althea and Beg
Samuel had two children in Australia to a Sarah Creery, she died and he then married my GGGrandmother Amy Sarah Fleetwood in 1896,they had no children,Samuel is not on the aussie electrol rolls but his wife Amy is on the 1903,1905 and 1908 rolls, right up to her death in 1930.
I am thinking this could be him who died in 1910,but if there are other Roberts in Herekino,as mentioned by Althea, maybe not him,I guess it is not out of the question that he may of had more children in NZ.Thinking the only way of knowing for sure would be to get the death cert for the 1910 death. How do I go about getting this? Thanks to you both for your input, just might be able to unlock this mystery.
Cheers
Judy

did the two children stay in Aus?

Added
The Ashley Guy Roberts in 1920s at Herekino is a red herring
he dies 1959 and ancestry trees have his parents as Phineas and Charlotte
