Can anyone help me find the location of the 3rd Battalion Shropshire Light Infantry during 1890-91 as my great grandfather was a member of that regiment

They were Militia, ie part-timers. Men served for six years during which they would have received 49 or 76 days initial training, with annual training of 6-8 weeks. If there was a general mobilization they were 'embodied' - made full-time. This happened in 1899 and 1914. At other times they just did the training outlined. While training they received the same pay as Regulars.

The headquarters were in Shrewsbury, but they would have gone somewhere and lived in tents.
