It was a beerhouse/shop, probably never had a full licence - the then landlord gave up selling booze in the 1950s. I can't find anything pre-1869 not even in an 1868 directory - which is odd as the Beer Act was repealed that year and it became difficult to open new beerhouses. Perhaps William Prince took a last minute opportunity to licence his house/shop before the act was repealed.
