i am looking for help! i am try to find photo,s Llanwonno, st gwynno not of the church or the pub. i am looking for photo,s of the original house,s  in this location between the pub and the church! or information could that help to solve this problem. many thanks

Hi P, I have seen a photo of these houses but I can't remember for certain where, I think that it may be in one of the books I have that were done by Alan Clements, give me a few days and I will get back to you

There is a photo of Stanley Baker in front ofthe Brynfynnon, when the film Zulu was made some of the scenes were shot in Llanwonno. Stanley Baker was from Ferndale.

Hi P   I have found one photograph in the book "Passages of Life-volume2 "by Alun Arwel Clements but it only shows the corner of Bryn Sychnant cottage next to the church  and what looks like the foundations of another house, my husband says he can recall 3 houses there in the 60s and one of them was a sort of shop, I know I have seen an older photo somewhere showing 3 houses with a person outside,it might have been in the local paper because it does not appear to be in any of my books, another place you might find a photograph is in the Brynffynon Arms the pub in LLanwono, there are loads of old photographs around the walls there, if you want I will get my daughter to try and scan the photo when she comes tomorrow, I am afraid that I am not very clever with the computer     Best Wishes Bethan

If you look at an enlarged image

there appears to be a house with chimney in a position tht looks like in front, but which must be maybe where there is now a small bare patch of ground where you can park the  car.

I do not have a photo of the houses, but to the best of my knowledge, there were three of four and they were situated before the Church and the pub from the Blaenllechau side. One of the houses was a shop and sold sweets and ice-creams. After walking there from Blaenllechau, that shop was a wonderful sight.
