Writing this on behalf of other Rootchatter(s) in Australia who can get on to the site, but then cannot scroll to read msgs or posts.

Apparently the problem has been ongoing for the last few days.

Hi all Aussie RootsChatters,

I don't think anyone has reported this via the "report to moderator" button - so I will do so.  This is the quickest way to get the technical bods to look at the problem.

I've not had any problems here in UK.  Please be patient - I know Trystan is having a busy working week, so this may take a little while to investigate.

I take my hat off to you folks who acutally chose to talk to Microsoft!

Nell

Hello To All RootsChat Members, especially to Australian Members and anyone who is having problems.

We are in Australia and have had no problems at all in accessing RootsChat within the past few days, in fact no problems at all since becoming a Member.

We visit RootsChat every day, and online for quite a while at a time.

One possibility might be as to whether you are using 'Internet Explorer', as opposed to 'Firefox'.  This has been discussed previously somewhere on RootsChat.

When we were using 'Internet Explorer' we always had never ending problems, but since we have changed to 'Firefox' everything just runs so smoothly.  We don't even have to run 'Spybot' and 'AdaWare' as often, if at all.

Hope this helps.

Thankyou for replying Nell.  :)

We all seem to be having the exact same problems and I for one struggled to get access in to any board to place this post.
I use Internet Explorer and have been experiencing difficulties in the past few days with this site only.

Thanks for your advice and we do appreciate that Trystan is very busy.

Must be something to do with the drought we are having - dust in the works - just kiddin.
Not having any problems for which I am grateful.
Can our English counterparts send us some rain please while they are fixing the problems most Aussies are having????
Would be greatfully received.

Hiya all,

First of all may I just aplogise for the frustration that this must be causing you. It's so annoying trying to log into a site, and then pages only partly load up.

I can see a number of you are experiencing problems, and they seem to be based mainly down under it seems.

I wonder if it would be possible for those that experience problems to make note of the time (and the timezone that you are in) so that we can try and work out when this is happening, or perhaps work out when it happens the most. Also, if you can when the page does load up, if you could note the thing right at the bottom of the page "Page created in 0.474 seconds with 16 queries." (or whatever it says!)

The site seems to be running quite smoothly over here in the UK, with only the occasional slow page. I'd like us to be able to get to the bottom of this though.  :)

Trystan

Actually, tonight, (in the UK) I just noticed on a few occassions the site suddenly slowing down, then mysteriously speeding up (that's at around 22:15 BST)...

Hi Trystan

Just heard from Darcy via e-mail.  She can't even get on to the site today.

Yesterday (Oz time) she could get on as a guest, but everything took ages to load, or just the top bar would load.  She was not able to scroll as the scroll bar looked the length of the page - if that makes sense!

I am relaying what I understand of her problem, as she can't get on to tell you!

best of luck!!  Arranroots  ;)
