Hi All

I'm in western australia and are having the same problems with logging in, pages not loading properly,site extremely slow ect
It is now 8:10 am here which would be 1:10 am UK

Not sure what the problem may be - it could be that our datacentre is getting an "attack" from down under - in which case it protects our server by restricting connections from that part of the internet...

If you could email her back and find out what times these problems have been happening (and the time zone) then that would be very useful to us.

"Page created in 0.418 seconds with 17 queries" shows that the server is humming away quite nicely - it's the conection between the server and AU that  seems to be the problem - that's the bit I need to sort out. :)

Hi just to throw a spanner in the works, am not experiencing any problems and am in South Australia - though others in SA obviously are.
Most peculiar.
Am on and off the net all hours from around 9am to 9.30pm

Hi Trystan,

I am in Melbourne and today has been the worst day so far this week. :(

From 8:00am until now which is abt 5:00pm (Australian Eastern Time) it has been extremely slow, many times not being able to get in to the site at all.
On the odd occassion I could get in, I was not able to open anything. The chatroom does not get beyond 'fetching settings....0%.'
Anyway, I've been able to get in to this board now so fingers crossed.

We do appreciate you sorting out this problem.

Darcy is out on the Razz at the moment  ;D ;D

Stop press: she has just mailed to say it doesn't matter what time she tries, can't get on at all today.  Previously the page would half load in about 10 minutes and say "done", with no further progress.  she is in Sydney.

i notice there was only 1 page of new posts overnight (UK time).  Only about half the usual surely?  :o

I was having serious problems generally in the UK yesterday.
Stuff like Ancestry saying "no server available", as well as rootschat being "too busy, try again in an hour (~23:00) BST".

I'm in Sydney ........... local time 18.23 ....... what I get ............ very,very painfully slowly are the messages related to this topic and when I look at all the contributors their 'star rating' exhibits empty boxes ........... very wierd indeed.

It's 10:57pm in Melbourne and so gave it one last shot before bed.

Got in straight away, no probs with anything, here's hoping I haven't been dreaming!!!!!!!!!
