Welland, Ontario: The Family of James and Sarah (Law) Martin
« on: Saturday 22 December 12 18:29 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information about the family of James and Sarah Jane (Law) Martin.  Sarah, and maybe James, immigrated to Canada from Ballymena, Ireland in the 1910s.  Sarah was born in about 1898.  In 1936, this family lived at 28 Fourth St., Welland, Ontario, Canada.

The reason I am interested in this family is that Sarah's brother, Samuel (Robert may have been his middle name) Law, lived there with them from about 1925 until 1936 and probably afterwards too, but I have not been able to find his death date or burial place.

Samuel was born in about 1898 and fought with the 6th Irish Rifles at Gallipoli (one of the very few that survived) and later Salonika, but earlier in the war he was with the  Leinster Regiment  and maybe the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

I do believe that Samuel became a Canadian citizen.

What does "army overseas ISO" mean?

It is so difficult to read this entry because there is a thick black line through it all. There is also something written over Samuel's name but I can't make that out either.

I don't know what ISO means. Could be any one of these and something else entirely.
ISO 1. information systems office, 3. individual system operation, 4. intelligence support office, 5. International Standardization Office, HQ USAF/XOXX, 6. initial squadron operation.
