Louisa Frampton b.@ 1818 Wimborne
« on: Thursday 20 December 12 18:01 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find any details on Louisa Frampton. The only details I know is that she married a John Francis Chevalley and had a child Francis born in Wimborne on 4th October 1848. I believe that she died in London in 1860. I can find no trace of her birth or marriage so any help would be much appreciated

Many thanks for the information but I am afraid that I did not phrase my question very well. I have details of her life after she gave birth to her son but nothing before that. I have tried to find details of her birth and marriage but without luck. I know from the census that she was born in Wimborne, Dorset about 1818/1819 and that they lived on the High Street there when the son was born. Any help would be appreciated

I bought a copy of their sons birth certificate. Details are 4th October 1848, Francis, boy, father-John James Francis Chevalley, mother-Louisa Cheavalley formerly Frampton, fathers occupation-cook, Informant-Louisa Cheavalley, mother (the address given is either King Street or High Street, Wimborne.
Chevalley is often mis-spelt as Cheavalley and the father was born Jean Francois Chevalley in Switzerland but anglicised his name. I have also seen him listed as Francis and John.

It may just be a red herring but, bearing in mind that J F Chevalley was a cook, I have found the Mail Coach Inn listed in King Street, Wimborne. In the 1851 census is listed an Emma Frampton who is a niece of the owner. Could be that Louisa and J F worked and met there?

Assuming that I am not going off on a wild goose chase (which I am very good at!). Reuben Short married Catherine Frampton in Southampton in 1839. There has to be a link somewhere there.
