I mus confess I always went via the 'save as' route too Yvonne - and I can't figure that one out yet either      ;)

I've been doing lots of exploring and I am still loving the new rootschat look.

I even ventured into the chat room which used to be a very scary riot of colour - but it all looked cool and calm.  I didn't stay long enough to post anything - I'm not that brave yet.

Just out of curiosity - and I am sure there is a very simple explanation... I have been wondering ...What are the green cog circle things on the main forum board page next to the board titles.

Most of them are brown and say NEW - but some are green and say NEW too.

My problem in saving images, ......

I find I have to click on downlod image now, as 'Save as' no longer works for me here & it takes much longer to get photos to restore.

This doesn't happen in other sites so it must be something to do with the change,

Is there a fix for this ?

Thanks, Yvonne  :)

Do you mean you used to right click and save as?  Whenever I did that, I got a low-res image.  Clicking on the download link I always got the full-res version - was this the case with you?
Having said all that, I can still control-click to save as (I'm on a Mac) so I'm not sure why it's not working for you (if I understand correctly what it is that you're trying to do)

I really don't like those stars in the dark circles - way, way too aggressive and dominant.  I don't think much of the narrow font, either.  And those interpolated ads are horrible.  But I guess I'll get used to the changes.

Don't think so, because I'm on Firefox too.  Maybe it's because I'm a moderator, but I don't think that can be it, can it?

Just tried on a new topic.  Downloaded from the link and got a full-sized image at 300dpi.  When I did a control-click and saved-as, I got a 700pixel-wide 72dpi image.

Hi Prue,  :)

Yes that's what I meant,

I didn't realise that caused the low resolution image though, but I did notice one of my recent restores was a lower resolution than the original when I used 'Save Target as' instead of 'Save as'.

Then I found it was just this site.

This is what I posted in the Technical thread ......

(When I right click on an image & choose 'Save as' I get a box saying ......

'the system cannot find the file specified'

then when I click on help this comes up ....

Cannot find C:\WINDOWS\system32\mshtml.help file. Do you want to try to find this file yourself ?

then says I need to reinstal it, would this be on the Windows XP backup disc ?

Is it just a coincidence this happened straight after the upgrade ?

I've been using 'save target as' at present, but photo size seems to reduce kbs.)

Restorers may use my restores to colour, acknowledgement appreciated.

I can't open Rootschat in Internet Explorer any more. It can't be my computer because every other Web Site I visit opens in my Internet Explorer as always.  But RootsChat won't.  I did a Google search for Roots Chat Forum and get a number of hits, but none of them open in Internet Explorer.

I'm doing this in Fire Fox because Roots Chat works in Fire Fox, but try as I might I can't get it to open in IE.   :(
