Looking through these posts, it does seem as if some of those who were very anti at first are slowly coming round to the new layout now that they have given themselves time to get used to it and have played around with it.  ;D ;D ;D

We haven't brought out an App yet.

Does that mean there is one on the way? That would be great.

So welcome to the age of "Coffee Jetset Genealogists"

Merry Christmas Trystan and Sarah  ,,     Now Sarah  drag that man away from the keyboard and take him home for a well earned rest.....

Whats the red 'contact support' button for ?    Is it a sort of PM to Trystan or the mods ??
Where is it?  I saw it when the site first changed, but haven't seen it since.  Perhaps they don't want me to contact support.  By the way I'm using Quick Reply for a change and it states I can still use smileys, but I can't see them.  Maybe I should learn the codes for them all?

Thanks mshrmh and Lizzie, I just checked my options on Firefox and find that it has indeed reverted to English US.

Have now re-set it to the language I want.
Perhaps I should take a leaf out of your book Lizzie and make sure it realises that I crack the whip. ;D

It's just told me that realise has a Z.   I shall have to crack the whip a bit harder. ;)

Ahh, just install Google Chrome - it has a spelling checker that you can set to UK English and it stays there  :)  Chrome also has this great facility where you highlight a word or words, then right-click, and you have the option to Google search the highlighted words.

RIP 1949-10th January 2013

Best Wishes,  Nick.

Rootschat works very well on my iphone! No problems at all. I have now put a link directly to rootschat on my phone 'desktop' ( or whatever it is).
The TOP button to take you to the top of the page is a little difficult to see, but I really like how the site works on my phone. Not that I am too keen on using my phone for such things but sometimes you just have to get your rootschat fix when you're out and about .  ;D

Can I ask how you got to the Mobile site. There used to be a button in the top-right corner but I can no longer find it.

Trystan removed it.

Hello Berlin-Bob,

Thanks for the reply.

So all I needed to do was switch to Firefox and install User Agent Switcher. My desktop now spoofs an iPhone and hey presto I'm back to the mobile layout. Big thanks :-)

It really makes me smile to myself at how we are all individuals with different tastes. To me the Mobile site is soothing Mozart whereas the main site is a rave party in an Ibiza nightclub. Each has their place but I know where I'd rather be.

Having said that, I'm really impressed with the number of rootschatters happily out raving :-)

Thanks again
Beg

My problem in saving images, ......

I find I have to click on downlod image now, as 'Save as' no longer works for me here & it takes much longer to get photos to restore.

This doesn't happen in other sites so it must be something to do with the change,

Is there a fix for this ?

Thanks, Yvonne  :)
Restorers may use my restores to colour, acknowledgement appreciated.
