I'm another one with a wide screen, which means I now have the grey stripes either side of my screen. On the plus side though, I can see more of the page when I go to split-screen mode; this makes it easier to read RC threads and do 'proper work' at the same time!  :D

I like it, its quicker, and easier to get around, but, surname interests take up too much space, it was usefull to be able to see several replies at once, made the thread more continuous

I hope someone can offer some advice. I have read about 17 pages of this thread so am unsure if my question has already been covered (apologies if it has). I intend to catch up on the remainder of the posts shortly.

I have previously used Rootschat on my iphone. It is not my preferred method but comes in handy if my desktop PC is 'occupied'. I have Safari and all I used to do was 'google' "Rootschat" and select the link to go to the site. Easy.

I have just tried to do the same thing. When the google results appear and I click on the rootschat link, I get the message "Cannot Open Page - Safari cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred".

What does this mean and is there a way around it? What can I do so I can either google rootschat and select it the way I used to do, or get rootschat on my iphone via any other means.

Is anyone else having the same problem? I haven't changed any settings or anything since I last visit Rootschat via my phone.

Ok, fixed it.  8)
It was a problem my end - I had to tick the box to allow cookies from "visited sites". Cool.

Overall I like the changes that have been made, obviously it will take some getting used to, but technology moves on.

One thing that I noticed however, when looking at a thread the 'previous' and 'next' links seem to have been removed.

I used to be able to open the first thread on say the restoration board, have a look at all the restores for that thread and then go to the next thread using the 'next' button. Now you have to click back to the list for the board and then select the next thread??

Will the  'previous' and 'next' links be making a come back?

All in all the new look is fantastic, but I can't see a "New posts since your last visit" tab.It may be just the way I use the site, but I don't like to miss anything, even if its just a cursory glance. Now there seem to be no posts between10.40 this morning & 3.00 am - and before that yesterday. Where has everything gone?

... I have read about 17 pages of this thread ...

A quick tip for all newcomers to this topic, and for "oldcomers" who want to re-read it ...

Click on the "print" button at the top or bottom right of the topic.  This won't actually print it but will display the whole topic on one page (in a printable format).  You won't see any images, but there aren't that many on this topic so that shouldn't be a problem.
